Fixed vs Negotiable Rate Campaigns

When to use fixed-rate and negotiable-rate campaigns, and how the negotiation flow works.

Influenzic supports two rate models for campaigns. Choosing the right one affects how applications are processed and how quickly projects get started.

Fixed Rate

The brand sets a single rate per influencer. All applicants are offered this same rate.

  • Best for campaigns with a defined budget per creator
  • Faster — no back-and-forth negotiation
  • Influencers see the rate upfront and self-select based on whether it works for them
  • On acceptance, the rate is escrowed from the brand wallet immediately

Negotiable Rate

Influencers propose their own rate when applying. Brands can accept, reject, or counter-offer.

  • Best for campaigns where you want to let market forces set the rate
  • Useful when you’re unsure what rates to expect for a new niche or platform
  • More communication overhead — expect more inbox activity

Negotiation Flow

  1. 1
Influencer applies with a proposed rate and optional pitch note.
  2. 2
Brand receives application and can: Accept (at proposed rate), Reject, or Counter-offer with a different amount.
  3. 3
If counter-offered, influencer receives notification and can: Accept the counter, Decline, or Counter back.
  4. 4
This continues until one party accepts or until the maximum negotiation rounds (configurable, default 5) is reached.
Full history is logged. Every offer, counter, and acceptance is stored in the project negotiation log. Both parties can view the full round-by-round history after the project is created.

Switching Rate Types

You can only set the rate type when creating the campaign. Once the campaign is published and has active applications, the rate type cannot be changed. To change it, close the campaign and create a new one.
